24.06.2018 Statista is the most used statistics database at German higher education institutions

The portal Statista is the leading statistics database at German higher education institutions; almost 90 percent of students use it every day. International tertiary education institutions have also already recognized the many benefits that come with a Statista license.

Up-to-date information is key in university teaching and research across all academic disciplines, which is why both today already largely rely on data in digital format. Online databases which give students and teachers quick access to the documents, facts, and data they are looking for are used in particular. As a result, Statista, as a statistics and knowledge portal which covers a broad range of topics, is one of the leading providers in the German higher education sector.

Today Statista is used by over 90 percent of all relevant academic institutions in Germany; the cooperation was launched in as early as 2011. “Amongst other things, this positive development is owed to the trusting cooperation with the hbz consortium,” states Dr. Friedrich Schwandt, CEO of Statista. Since its beginnings, the platform’s popularity with German students has been growing steadily: 2.5m students, which accounts for almost 90 percent of all students, use Statista every day.

International tertiary education institutions have also recognized the many benefits that come with a Statista license. For instance, 644 US colleges and universities, among them all Ivy League schools including Yale, already offer their students campus-wide access to the platform. In other regions Statista is also widely used at higher education institutions: 189 European and 32 Asian universities have access to the international statistics platform through a Campus License.
