Statista and FOCUS publish employer study for the third time

Hamburg/Munich, January 30, 2015 --- What makes a company appealing as an employer? What are the most important factors from an employee point of view? What do employees think of other potential employers in their industry? For the third consecutive year, Statista cooperated with FOCUS magazine, career network XING and employer review website kununu in order to find out what exactly employees are looking for in a company. In the process, the extensive study analyzed more than 70,000 detailed employee reviews on 1,100 German employers.

However, the study does not stop at ranking employers by their level of appeal to employees. Statista also came up with an answer to the key question: Which factors influence employer appeal to which degree (analyzed for 22 industries, by company size, by gender etc.)? While security-related factors like corporate image and growth were the key drivers behind employee satisfaction in 2014, team atmosphere and manager behavior were more important in 2015.

The study investigates the significance of seven main influential factors for each industry. In addition to this, it also includes the individual results for each of the 1,100 employers under consideration. This way, employers can develop customized strategies for their business and compare their own results to those of competing companies.

For the third year in a row, it is a car manufacturer that ranked at the very top of the list of the best German employers: BMW came in first place, closely followed by last year's winner Audi in second and retail store dm Drogerie Markt in third place. The surprise newcomer this year? The Bielefeld branch of German public bank Sparkasse also made it into the top 10.
