24.10.2018 Statista launches "Statista for Schools" at the Medical Academy Rostock

With the initiative "Statista for Schools", the statistics portal Statista helps students and teachers benefit from the opportunities the digitization offers: students are given access to the extensive Statista database to learn as early as possible how to deal with information and online data. The nationwide initiative has now been launched successfully at the Rostock Medical Academy.

While digitally supported education is well established at colleges around the world, also teaching at schools is now to be digitally supported. On the one hand, the aim is to minimize the digital gap between schools and tertiary educational institutions such as universities and colleges and, on the other hand, to provide students with tools that facilitate learning.

The Medical Academy Rostock is the first school where Statista launches the nationwide pilot project "Statista for Schools". Students have now access to over one million statistics from approximately 22,500 sources. "With the help of Statista, we are happy to give our students another digital tool to learn media literacy in the classroom. Especially in terms of research and the use of information and data on the internet, this is a special help for the entire vocational training, "said the headmaster of the Medical Academy Michael Nimtz.

Dr. Friedrich Schwandt, Managing Director of Statista, adds: "The added value of Statista´s commitment to education and science has already been comprehensively recognized and acknowledged. With "Statista for Schools" we want to take responsibility when it comes to preparing students for their digital future during further education or at work. "

This new initiative of Statista sees itself as a nationwide project that should be accessible to all schools in Germany.
