Definition Matrix

In the context of mathematics and statistics, a matrix is a collection of vectors. Whereas a vector conveys the information about the values that comprise it and their positions (first element, second element, …), a matrix conveys the same information about the values and additional information in subsequent columns (first element of the first column, second element of the first column, first element of the second column, ...).
