GGR of retail gambling in Italy 2019-2022, by game
The gross gaming revenue (GGR) of the retail gambling market in Italy experienced a sharp annual increase in 2022. That said, it remained below the figure from 2019, the year before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In 2022, electronic gambling machines, including AWP (amusement with prize) and VLT (video lottery terminals), recorded the highest GGR, at roughly 8.7 billion euros. Meanwhile, the GGR of lottery games declined over the previous year but stayed higher than pre-pandemic levels, amounting to around 2.8 billion euros in 2022.
