Investment amount of regular NISA accounts in Japan 2023, by age group
As of the end of March 2023, 60 to 69-year-olds in Japan had invested around 7.54 trillion Japanese yen through regular NISA accounts since 2014. The total value of investments made through regular NISA accounts since 2014 amounted to more than 28 trillion Japanese yen. NISA, short for Nippon Individual Savings Account, was first introduced in 2014 and offers tax exemptions on investments as an incentive for consumers to build assets through investments.
