Electricity demand in the household sector Japan FY 2013-2022
In the fiscal year 2022, the electricity demand for the residential sector in Japan amounted to approximately 258 billion kilowatt-hours. Figures had been on a general downward trend since the peak demand of the decade was reached in fiscal 2014 at almost 279.5 billion kilowatt-hours, although the spikes in fiscal 2017 and 2020 could indicate a shift in electricity consumption. In the measured time period, the residential sector had the second-highest electricity demand, following the business sector.
