Japan: overseas construction order value by region 2022

In the fiscal year 2022, overseas construction contracts for projects in Asia signed by companies in Japan amounted to over 1.12 trillion Japanese yen. The total value of overseas construction orders awarded to Japanese companies increased by around 14.6 percent compared to the previous year.

The statistic shows the accumulated value of overseas construction contracts signed by the 51 members of the Overseas Construction Association of Japan, Inc. for the respective year.
The figures include projects of 10 million Japanese yen or more per contract.
Excluding contracts between member companies (including overseas companies) and between Japanese member companies and their overseas subsidiaries (duplicated figures due to general contracting and subcontracting). Regarding joint-venture projects, figures are based on the companies' share of equity investment.

100 Japanese yen equal 0.72 U.S. dollars or 0.67 euros as of June 2023.
