The majority of 1,000 people surveyed in Morocco did not feel that the coronavirus (COVID-19) threat was being exaggerated. Some 38 percent of respondents strongly disagreed, while 29 disagreed with the following statement presented by the source: "The threat of coronavirus is exaggerated". On the other hand, 13 percent agreed and 14 percent strongly agreed with the sentence. Overall, among 12 countries in Africa in which the survey was conducted, Nigeria was the country that reported the highest share of respondents who strongly agreed that the risks posed by COVID-19 were being exaggerated.
