Banking channels used in Kenya 2020, by customer age group
As of 2020, mobile banking was the main channel adopted in Kenya in all age groups. The utilization was higher among younger respondents under 18 years (58 percent) and those aged 26-35 years (58 percent). Moreover, mobile banking was used by 55 percent of respondents from 18 to 25 years. The use of Automated Machine Tellers (ATMs) was more frequent among customers from 56-70 years (20 percent), while bank branches had a higher share amid respondents aged 70 years and older (26 percent).
