Arms imports into Tanzania 2011-2018
China was the main supplier of weapons to Kenya in the entire period under consideration. Arms included aircraft, air defense systems, armored vehicles, artillery, engines, missiles, sensors, and ships.
As of 2018, the value of arms imports into Tanzania was 32 million SIPRI trend indicator value (TIV), increasing from two million TIV recorded in the previous year. TIV is a measure to represent the transfer of military resources rather than the financial value of the transfer. It neither reflects prices paid for weapons nor represents current dollar values for arms transfers.
