Monthly wholesale electricity prices in Finland 2019-2024
The price of electricity in Finland showed a decrease in April 2024, when it amounted to 48.9 euros per megawatt-hour.
In 2021 and 2022, electricity prices soared throughout Europe, the combination of a myriad of factors, including increased heating demand due to cold winters, a rise in natural gas and coal prices, and a decline in wind power generation due to low wind speeds. In Finland, this resulted in a nearly four-fold increase in electricity prices over the course of the year.
