Chosen health care institutions in Mexico in 2021, by type and patient affiliation
According to a survey conducted in Mexico in 2021, most interviewees that sought health care had chosen health facilities corresponding to their medical affiliation. In that year, around 42 percent of respondents who had no health insurance attended a private health care facility for medical attention, whereas 38 percent of those insured with ISSSTE preferred these type of health care services. Overall, 36 percent of respondents chose private health care.
