Figures on cannabis legalization in Latin America 2020
According to a study carried out among 20 countries in Latin America, nine countries in the region had adopted some form of cannabis legalization as of 2020. Within the group of countries analyzed, only five had reached an established NFD legal score access threshold. The NFD threshold is based on a quantitative index score that considers the legal status and tolerated access to high-THC cannabis and related products. By that year, four countries in the region had met a set NFD score threshold related to the medical use of cannabis, while two nations had met a fixed threshold concerning adult-use cannabis.
