In 2021, less than two-thirds of physicians in the U.S. would choose to become a physician again. According to this survey, American doctors' professional fulfillment was at its lowest in 2021. The proportion of physicians who indicated they would choose to become a physician again if they could revisit their career choice was 57 percent in 2021, compared with 72 percent in 2020. Such decreased career satisfaction relates to the need for more work-life integration among physicians. Furthermore, the 2021 figure has been collected 21 months into the COVID-19 pandemic, which undeniably played a role.
