Freedom of expression score in Sierra Leone 2000-2022
Sierra Leone scored 72 points in the Global Expression Report (GxR) in 2022. This was slightly lower compared to the previous year, when the country scored 74 points. Over the observed period, the freedom of speech and openness of the society was at its best in 2018 , when it received a score of 77. Furthermore, the score was at its lowest in 2000 and 2001, with 59 points. GxR ranks countries based on the openness of the society, with a higher score being given to countries with more freedom of expression.
