COVID-19 third booster shot rate in Italy November 2023, by region
In autumn 2021, Italian authorities started administering booster shots of coronavirus vaccines to the population in order to improve general protection against the virus, using either Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. As of November 20, 2023, approximately 8.7 percent of the population over 12 years old had received a third booster vaccination. This statistic shows regional differences in these figures. Piedmont was the region achieving the highest booster vaccination coverage, with around 19 percent. Conversely, just 3.4 percent of citizens living in Calabria received a third booster shot.
