Change in gross domestic product and net GHG emissions in the U.S. 2019-2023
The gross domestic product (GDP) of the United States is projected to have grown 2.4 percent in 2023. By comparison, the country's net GHG emissions are projected to have fallen roughly two percent from the previous year. This would be the first time that the U.S. has decoupled economic growth from emissions since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
