This statistic shows the rate of mortality to lung cancer incidence in England in 2016, by region and gender. Lung cancer, also known as lung carcinoma, occurs when there is abnormal cell growth in the lungs, this abnormal growth can spread to other parts of the body. In the East Midlands in this year, 77 percent of males as well as 77 percent of females who were diagnosed died as a result of lung cancer.
