Monthly hotel bed occupancy in the Balearic island of Mallorca 2019-2022
In 2022, the greatest bed occupancy rate of hotels in Mallorca occurred in August with a rate of 89.4 percent. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the hotel industry in Mallorca, Spain, was strongly affected in 2020. Between April and June 2020, the island was mostly closed for tourism. As it reopened in the following months, the bed occupancy of hotel establishments remained far below pre-pandemic averages, peaking at only 41.5 percent in August of that year.
