The M1 money supply in the United Kingdom increased by almost nine percent between December 2020 and December 2021. The money supply is the amount of monetary assets available in an economy. M1, called the "narrow money", includes currency in circulation (banknotes and coins) and overnight deposits. It depicts the value of the most liquid components of the money supply. In the latest month displayed, the value of total money supply (M1) reached almost 2.28 trillion British pounds (GBP).
