Nutritional energy sources breakdown of women in Japan 2017, by age group
This statistic depicts the results of a survey conducted in November 2017 in Japan about the distribution of nutritional energy sources of the female population, broken down by age group. During the surveyed period, carbohydrates were the largest source of energy for the female population in Japan. Women in the age group 80 years and over drew almost 60 percent of their energy from carbohydrates, while proteins made up 15.3 percent of their energy sources.
