In Iceland, the rate of people living in overcrowded houses was significantly lower among people born in Iceland than among people born in another country. In 2018, around 8.5 percent of the Icelandic-born population lived in overcrowded houses. The same year, the numbers were just above 18 and just below 21 percent for EU-born and non-EU-born citizens, respectively.
