Smer - SD of the former Prime Minister Robert Fico won the 2023 election to the National Council of the Slovak Republic with a share of 22.94 percent of votes. Progressive Slovakia under Vice-President of the European Parliament, Michal Šimečka, placed second with a 17.96 share of the vote, followed by Hlas - SD of Peter Pellegrini, another former PM, with 14.7 percent. According to the source, the turnout was 68.51 percent.
