K-12 teachers' support for parents to opt children out of race/gender topics U.S 2023
According to a survey conducted in 2023, 48 percent of public K-12 teachers in the United States believed that parents should be able to opt their children out of learning about sexual orientation and gender identity if the way that they are taught conflicts with the parents' personal views or beliefs in the United States. In comparison, 80 percent of K-12 teachers who identified as Republican and 30 percent of K-12 teachers who identified as Democrats shared this belief.
