This statistic looks at turnover of leading Do-It-Yourself (DIY) retailers in Europe in 2018. That year, Groupe Adeo had the highest turnover with roughly 20 billion euros. The Kingfisher group was second with roughly 11.2 billion euros, and third was a German brand, Obi, with a much smaller turnover, at 7.7 billion euros.
Groupe Adeo is a French retailer, which was previously known as Leroy Merlin and was established in 1923 under this name. The group now operates a number of stores, including Weldom, Briocenter, Aki and Bricoman. Since 2009, the company's turnover has increased by over six billion euros.Europe's second leading DIY retailer, the Kingfisher Group, owns multiple brands such as B&Q, Castorama, Brico Depot and Screwfix. It was initially founded as a UK company, with B&Q a leading brand within the United Kingdom. The retail profit for this chain has increased year over year since 2010, with 2018 showing a profit of 375 million British pounds.
